- The hospital will support the diverse needs of the community it serves, focusing on cultural, linguistic and religious needs of patients and families.
- Peel Memorial Centre staff will seek to partner with local education institutions to support education and training of a wide range of health care providers from medical students to technologists.

- The design and construction of the new hospital will adhere to the guidelines and sustainability principles of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) rating system.
- The building team's goal is to achieve a LEED® Silver certification for its green construction practices.
