BROCKVILLE-Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Brockville General Hospital (BGH) have announced EllisDon is the preferred proponent to build and finance the Brockville General Hospital.

EllisDon was selected after extensive evaluations following an open, fair and competitive request for proposals (RFP) process that began in May 2017.

IO and BGH will now work to finalize contract details with EllisDon. The project is expected to reach financial close in March 2018, which will mean that relevant contracts have been signed and a financing rate has been set. The contract cost will be announced publicly following financial close. Construction is expected to begin shortly after.

Improving access to better healthcare is part of Ontario's plan to create fairness and opportunity during this period of rapid economic change. The plan includes a higher minimum wage and better working conditions, free tuition for hundreds of thousands of students, easier access to affordable child care, and free prescription drugs for everyone under 25 through the biggest expansion of medicare in a generation.
