Local Services Boards
Since 2008, IO has partnered with Local Services Boards to help provide access to affordable financing for capital investments.
Eligibility
Local Services Boards in Ontario may apply for an IO Loan for capital expenditures relating to their authorized activities. These may include any combination of the following services, as set out in the Northern Services Boards Act:
- Water supply
- Fire protection and emergency telecommunications
- Garbage collection
- Street or area lighting
- Recreation
- Roads
- Public library service

Rates and Terms
IO’s lending rates provide equitable access to affordable financing for all clients. Please contact your
Relationship Manager for today’s rate information. Local Services Boards may select repayment terms of 5 to 30 years, to match the life of the capital asset.
