Request for Proposals will be Issued Shortly

TORONTO - Today, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Ontario announced companies short-listed to deliver high quality driver examination services, while upgrading and maintaining the IT systems at all DriveTest centres across the province.

The operator of driver examination services is responsible for providing written and driving tests to individuals applying for driver's licences in all classes. The operator is also responsible for maintaining and operating a network of testing centres, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints. Each year, the existing driver examination services network processes approximately 575,000 knowledge tests and 675,000 road tests, and exchanges more than 90,000 licences from other jurisdictions.

Over the past few months, the Province received several high quality bids. Interested companies competed in a request fo qualifications (RFQ) process. Submissions were evaluated and companies were ranked for their experience, financial capabilities and their ability to deliver the project's key objectives. All participating companies met the require qualifications. The three highest ranking companies were short-listed to participate in the request for proposals. These include:

  • Forum Social Infrastructure Services:
    Forum Equity Partners Inc.
    Ontario Pension Board (“OPB”)
    Sodexo (Canada) Ltd.
    Hewlett Packard (Canada) Co.
  • SGS Canada Inc. (SGS):
    A global company, specializing in providing independent testing, inspection, verification and certification services.
